Under the auspice of his grace Bishop Youssef, Our church received the Coptic Medical Mission group, CMANA, coming from the United States and Canada on July 13 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. This group consisted of physicians from multiple specialties including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Pediatrics, Uro-gynecology, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. They were joined by Fr. Daniel Besada of Toronto, Canada and students from the CMANA student chapter including medical, pharmacy, and undergraduate students. In addition, the doctors’ families served as volunteers for the fellowship service. They all served long hours diligently in different parts of Bolivia. The physicians saw large patient volumes at a number of clinical sites including the Pope Shenouda III Health Center, Japanese Hospital, Cardiac Center, Archangel Michael Church in El Paquio, and the village of Montero. They also gave academic lectures to the physicians and other health providers at the Japanese Hospital. Volunteers participated in fellowship service in which they visited orphanages and remodeled homes for the needy. We thank CMANA for their week of service and pray for the physical and spiritual healing of all the patients who were treated under their care.
